MTurk Worker Annotations

We now show the responses from five crowdworkers used to annotate this class-feature pair as core or spurious. Workers first denote if the focus of the image is on the main object (core), or a separate or background object (spurious). They also mark their confidence on a scale of 1 to 5, and provide written explanations for their annotation.

Main Object	4	The red area overlaps the other colors in the picture its adding depth to the lighter fire. its expressing how hot the flame on the lighter / ignitor is.

Main Object	4	Considering the flame of a lighter as part of a lighter (main object), i'm confident to say images 1, 4 and 5 have red regions focusing on part of the main object. you can not say the flame is being emmited by a lighter on image 2, and image 3 is a close shot picture of an entirely different object (candle), but i've chosen the option i did because on the majority of the images have the red region clearly focusing part of the main object.
